Happy Sangria Day {foodie}

Celebrate Sangria day on the 20th
or Everyday can be Sangria Day

There are so many different recipes for sangria you can change it up as much as you like. This drinks variations centers on the type of fruit, the presence or lack of carbonation and the kind of alcohol added, if any at all.

You can add any fruit you prefer, the key is to use fruit that’s in season in order to get the best flavor. So while citrus and berries are the best for sangria, also consider fruits like peach, pineapple, mango, melon and apple. For the yummiest Sangria let the fruit marinate in the wine a day ahead or at least a few hours before serving.

You can add a few shots of your favorite liquor and a splash of orange juice.
If you’d like to add bubbles, consider soda water or a citrus flavored soda. Some sangria lovers add honey or sugar as well.

While connoisseurs say it’s important to use a good quality red wine to get the authentic flavor. Sangria can also be made with white wine and is known as sangria blanca. In some parts of Southern Spain, sangria is called zurra and is made with peaches or nectarines.

Add your personal touch by garnishing your Sangria to match the Season or Celebration.

Layered Smoothie {food}

Layered Smoothie
Bottom – Green Juice Ice cubes
Middle – Frozen Banana
Top – Frozen Mixed Berries

Layered Smoothies are real cute looking and it is much easier to blend if you have a regular household blender.

TIP: Frozen Fruit are better for blending Smoothies, no need to add ice. Pop your favorite fruit in the freezer the night before and just blend with a little cold water.
