Jinn is the work of designer, Jeanine Benjamin. She holds an honours degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Cape Town. Jeanine has always had a love for fashion and design with a specific focus on jewelry. Jinn was founded in 2011 and taken to the next level when Benjamin undertook a Silversmithing course at the Ruth Prowse School of Art. The designer’s engineering education and previous background in Fitting & Turning merged with silversmithing and culminated in a unique aesthetic seen in Jinn pieces. These are inspired by refined and modernized perspectives of old jewelry design, with a view to creating adornments that one would otherwise not find.

Jeanine also creates distinctive pieces for discerning fashion enthusiasts who seek authenticity. Benjamin hopes for Jinn to evolve into a high-end jewelry label, and thus become a channel for skills transferral and job creation.
